DIOCESAN CHOIR JUBILEE CELEBRATION AND CHOIR COMPETITION

As part of the Diocesan Jubilee Celebrations, the Diocese will organize a Diocesan Choir Competition culminating in the Diocesan Choir Jubilee Celebration in honour of St. Cecilia, the Patron Saint of Church Choirs and Musicians.

The competition will begin at the parish level, where each parish choir will participate and compete. Winning choirs will advance to the deanery and diocesan levels, leading up to the grand diocesan celebration. This initiative seeks to promote excellence in sacred music, foster unity among choirs, and strengthen the ministry of liturgical music within the Diocese.

This year’s celebration will be marked by the special composition and performance of the Diocesan Anthem and the Diocesan Jubilee Theme Song, showcasing the creativity, talents, and spiritual richness of our choirs.

All parishes are required to plan, animate, facilitate, and support their choir groups to ensure full participation in the competition and jubilee activities. Parish priests, choir patrons, trainers, and leaders are encouraged to work closely with their choirs in preparation for this important diocesan event.

Note: Participation by all parishes is mandatory.
